Galentine's Day in Stillwater
#: 2035    ID:    Section:
Description:

Do you know what February 13th is? It’s Galentine’s Day! The day to celebrate and make time for your Gal (or Guy) friends. Grab a friend and let’s board a school bus to Stillwater, MN to see two buildings on the National Register for Historic Places the Washington County Courthouse (built in 1870) and the Lowell Inn (built in 1927).  First we’ll have a guided walking tour of the Courthouse in which we’ll see the building, exhibits, jail and courtroom. Then off to lunch at the Lowell Inn, which includes rolls, butter, coffee, water and your choice of entrée. There are three entrée choices, either Beef Stroganoff in a mushroom, onion and sour cream sauce over farfalle pasta, Almond Crusted Tilapia topped with pineapple salsa and red pepper Rouille, served with mashed potatoes or the famous Lowell Inn ‘Chicken ala King’ consisting of chicken, mushrooms and bell peppers in a sherry cream sauce served over mashed potatoes with a puff pastry shell. Each entrée is served with the vegetable of the day. After lunch there will be time to look around the Lowell Inn gift shop and lobby and then we’ll head back to Columbia Heights.
